Daiso in Daly City
Last night, we were driving home from dinner in San Francisco. As we approached Daly City, along 280, I completely flipped out. There, at Serramonte Shopping Center, glowing in the fog, was the word "Daiso." Big and red, on the side of a building that I believe used to be a Good Guys.
Daiso is a Japanese dollar-store that opened its first U.S. shop in the Seattle area about a year ago. And I cannot even contain my excitement that they've now set up shop in the Bay Area. And in Daly City! My hometown! (Maybe I never should have left?)
According to this article, most of the goods in the 12,000-square feet store will be priced at about $1.50. (Stocking-stuffer heaven!) Daiso just opened last weekend ... and I think we all know where I'll be this weekend.
