Wow. December 15th. Already?

• I just realized yesterday that the registration sticker on my car = November 2006. After spending half an hour looking through all sorts of junk drawers, I finally found the paperwork so I could renew online. (In California, the DMV sends the documents about three months in advance — giving you plenty of time to lose them.) Of course, there was a late fee for the renewal, which was about one month tardy. ONE-HUNDRED-AND-FIFTY DOLLARS. They are not joking with their payment deadlines. That's basically a 50% late fee! Crazy, right?


• Even though we're halfway through December, I still don't have a holiday card design in mind. I'm so behind on this project. But this weekend: me and the Gocco. (That is, when we're not attending the holiday parties that are on our calendar.)


• I've been meaning to post a photo of the holiday-ish table we set for last Saturday's dinner. We kept things simple (mainly because our table isn't very wide) and cheap:

And even though it wasn't on the actual table, I wanted to mention the delicious mini-cupcakes we picked up from Sibby's Cupcakery. The sampler included snickerdoodle, eggnog, chocolate, carrot, mocha and gingerbread cupcakes. They were so good — not to mention cute — I've already placed another order for Christmas.
