Where the Sun Don't Shine

In elementary school, there was a kid named Eli in my class. Any time someone wore a new pair of shoes, he would chase them — screaming "new shoes! new shoes!" — and proceed to step all over their new shoes. This week, I discovered another way to give new shoes that well-worn look: Wear them while hauling out the garbage and recycling bins during a crazy-ass winter storm.

Sadly, it looks like the storm may have caused a fire at Manka's, which is where Jon and I spent our anniversary this year. We didn't stay in the main lodge, so I'm guessing our cabin is fine. But the wonderful restaurant there is pretty much gone.
