Stuff and Nonsense

  • If you have small feet (like me) and are looking for some simple ballet flats, I have a suggestion for you: J.Crew's kids' collection. The flats, which are made in Italy, are quite comfortable. I am embarassed to say how many pairs I have purchased in recent months (so I won't). And just to give you an idea about the sizing, I'm a size 4 in women's shoes and am able to fit a size 2 in the Crewcuts.

  • My car is in the shop this week for a routine maintenance check, so I've got one of these hybrid SUVs as my loaner. We're thinking that Jon's next car might be a hybrid and I must say, I like the loaner much more than I thought I would. It's quiet. Yet fast. (Even though loudness is sometimes a selling point when you test-drive sporty cars, I don't like that.)

  • In reality TV news, I've given up on watching Bravo's "Top Design"; don't really like MTV's "I'm From Rolling Stone" yet find myself recording it every week anyway; and hate the fact that I love MTV's "The Hills." (I read somewhere that Spencer is only 23. Doesn't he look way older? And it freaks me out that Audrina's teeth literally glow when there's a black light around. So unnatural.)

  • I'm still sick. Usually, when I'm sick, I enlist my mom to make me a special soup and a special noodle dish. But she was on vacation for a few days, so I've had to go without my comfort foods (waaaa!). Future disasters will be averted, however, because Jon has agreed to learn how to make the soup and the noodles. Yay!
