More on Petit Pattern Books

UPDATE, 07/16: JayneAlix wrote to let me know that Amazon is actually carrying some of the books. You just have to search for "Petite Pattern" (instead of "Petit Pattern"). Sweet!

So I dragged Jon to Kinokuniya yesterday morning to track down more of the Petit Pattern books (mentioned in a previous entry). The store staffer I spoke to said that they didn't carry the book — she knew because someone had come by the previous day and asked about them, too. But then she thought, two customers in two days? Maybe she should look into special-ordering the books. And, as she was making her way to the front of the store, she kept repeating the name to herself, "Petit Pattern, Petit Pattern, Petit Pattern." And then, as we were in the "Fine Arts" aisle, she had a lightbulb moment. There, to her right, were five books in the series!

So I picked up the four that I didn't have: "Japanese Style," "Dots and Stripes," "Check and Knit" and "Kids and Toys." I can't wait to start crafting things with all of my new patterns!

And to the person who visited the Kinokuniya last Friday and walked away empty-handed: Go back! The books really are there!

P.S. I was shocked — given how expensive everything in London is — that these books were actually cheaper at the Tate Modern. $30 there versus $40 at Kinokuniya. According to a comment in this CraftZine post, YesAsia has them for $35 with free international shipping. (Unfortunately, I searched and didn't come up with any Petit Pattern books on YesAsia. Maybe my search skills are just lacking here.) UPDATE: Another reader tip indicates that searching by ISBN is the way to go on the YesAsia site. Thank goodness Print & Pattern listed the ISBNs in a recent post.
