Smooth Sailing
True story: Jon once graced the cover of SAIL magazine. He grew up sailing and, until a year or two ago, still competed in a regatta every now and then. So when the very talented Lorena (of Petit Collage) and I started discussing ideas for a custom piece, I knew it should include a sailboat. Aside from that, she could pretty much do whatever she wanted because I had faith she would create something special. And she did not disappoint:
I love the various scraps of paper she chose for the water. And those seagulls and the "JH" on the boat are such a sweet touch. Now we just have to find the perfect spot in the house to hang it up.
(BTW, the photo doesn't do the piece justice. I've said it before, and I'll say it many more times I'm sure: I'm not a very good photographer!)
