Splurge vs. Steal
Okay, I now have a new mirror obsession. I am looking for something for the entry area. I love love love the BDDW Captain's Mirror, but it is $1200-1600 (depending on whether you buy the 20"or 28" version).

New York designer Lucia Nenickova makes a similar mirror for $650-1200 (14" or 24").

And then we have Modern Dose, which sells a 17" look-alike for just under $350.

I am going to NYC next month, so may stop into the BDDW and Lucia Nenickova shops. But the Modern Dose mirror is so much easier on the wallet, that I'm leaning that way. Plus, the diameter may be just right for the entry.

Saw this http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40047883 at Ikea today and realized that, with a bit of DIY'ing, it could be a stand-in for these other two for someone on a very limited budget. Price: $29.99 Diameter: 27 1/2" {Long time fan, first time commenter - really enjoy your blog!}

Hi Jessica! I bet someone who has experience working with leather could transform that Ikea mirror into a BDDW look-alike. Sadly, that someone is not me. Maybe it could be DIY'd with some other material though. Hmmm. (BTW, speaking of DIY, I *love* that silkscreened fabric in your Flickr set.)
