Frank Lloyd Wright's Hanna House
Did you know that there is a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home on the Stanford campus? I didn't until two or three years ago, when Jon clued me in. And it's taken us *this* long to finally get around to scheduling a tour of the Hanna House. (We went yesterday morning.)
That narrow door is the entry to the home; it's actually located on the back side of the house.
In the mid-1930s, Stanford professor Paul Hanna and his wife, Jean, recruited Wright to design a home for them and their three young kids. It's based on the hexagon, and even much of the custom furniture inside was fashioned in that shape. Unfortunately, photos are only allowed outside. (This Via story has more details on the home.)
If you're in the area, I highly recommend taking an hour out of your day to tour the Hanna House.
