Knock It Off
Not a huge surprise: Pottery Barn is now selling a knock-off of the BDDW mirror I have been coveting.
The more I look at the BDDW Captain's Mirror and then the less expensive versions, the more convinced I am that I need to save my money for the BDDW one.
(I really like PB's crest-shaped pinboard — also a new product — but have no need for it.)

You should consider looking into the original by Jacques Adnet who designed this mirror in the 40s. Recommend getting the real thing by Adnet, in person it is absolutely stunning, you'll have it forever. (http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture_item_detail_20th.php?id=214066)

JBC - I'm going to give Orange a call later this week re. the Adnet mirrors. But I'm a little scared to find out how much they cost!

I have a 1st Dibs account -- the Adnet mirrors start at $5,500 depending on size. YEOW!!
Kind of makes the BDDW version look like a bargain, and Pottery Barn's seems just about free!

Anna - Thanks for the info on the Adnet mirrors. Wow. I'm not sure I have it in me to save up that much (and that long) for those. I guess I'm back to the BDDW one, which already seems like such a splurge!
