Lighting Strikes
I need some help, please. This is the candelabra that hangs above our dining table:

It needs to be replaced mainly because it's impractical. I am not about to light all of those candles every night, but we definitely need more light in that area of the house. Although I would love a David Weeks fixture, I have no idea how to get my hands on one. (I suppose I could ask a designer?)
Are there any lights out there that you'd recommend? I think this candelabra is about 3' in diameter, so the room can definitely handle a good-sized fixture.

this might be too small, but i like these tiered lamps:

If I had the room for the Thomas O'Brien Vendome chandelier, I would get it. And it sounds like you do have the room for it!

Hi Anh-Minh,
We have the Zettle'z 5 lamp by Ingo Maurer in our dining room and it is stunning! It is a true conversation piece, and best of all, our guests have added personalized notes to the blank sheets, making the lamp unique to our home. :)

Couldn't you just directly contact David Week's studio? They have an email and a phone number listed.

Mo - A friend mentioned that Weeks' lighting can only be purchased through Ralph Pucci. And I'm not sure, but I thought you had to go through a designer or decorator in order to purchase from RP. But I haven't extensively investigated this. In any case, I've heard they cost at least several thousand dollars, so I'm trying to find a more budget-friendly option before I get too serious about a Weeks design.

How about Ingo Maurer's "Birdie" light? It's expensive, otherwise I would own it myself.

I know that there are some places that will wire up a chandelier for electrical use, instead of candles. You might want to call around and find out. by the way I absolutly love love love your blog, I foung it on stumble upon, and as someone who is not fortunate enough to be living in a house of my own (were in a motel) the link to the apartment therapy website was a godsend, I wouldnt have found it with out you. and since i basically have free reign of what I want to do to my room, I am looking for ideas now!!!

If you like the look of the one you have now (which I do, very much), this one is pretty similar:
