Painting Le Tour

In our house, July means that the DVR is full of Tour de France recordings. Jon is more of a cycling fan than I am, but since meeting Levi Leipheimer and his lovely wife a couple of years ago — and writing about their Santa Rosa home for the Chronicle — I've been following the race more. I love that artist Rob Ijbema is not only watching the Tour, but creating paintings based on each day's stage.

Check them out at Painting Le Tour. Sadly, the Astana team time trial painting is already sold. I think Jon would have really liked that one.

My DVR is loaded up Tour recordings as well. It's a bummer that Levi broke his wrist! Those paintings are so cool, thanks for sharing.
