Strawberry Fields Forever

Last month, Jon and I went berry-picking at Webb Ranch in Portola Valley. We decided that it was something my six- and eight-year-old nephews would enjoy, too. So on Saturday morning, we got up bright and early to pick strawberries with them.

Although the strawberries were small, they were sweet and juicy. When we got back to our house, we made waffles and topped them with the morning's haul. Delicious!

the petite strawberries are always the tastiest, aren't they? those little red jewels aren't meant to be beefed up like those frankenstein strawberries they sell in the supermarket!

SFDC - Ha ha. You're so right. The strawberries were really yummy. I was initially worried that my nephews would be disappointed (because they're used to the supermarket variety), but they didn't care at all.

Actually, it was better that they were small because we didn't have to spend as much time slicing them up!
