Alameda Flea Market - Cancelled?

In case you haven't heard and were planning to go to the Alameda flea market this weekend, I just got word that it's been cancelled. And future events are also questionable. (Thanks for the tip, Lynn!)

The flea market website now has a message on top that says: "Proceedings have been commenced for the voluntary dissolution of Antiques By The Bay, Inc. As a result the show scheduled for Nov 1, 2009 will not take place."

I have no idea what this means, but it doesn't sound good. Boo.

UPDATE: The note on the website has been removed, but the voicemail message for the show still says it's cancelled. Since it's only four days away, hopefully there will be a definite answer about this soon!

UPDATE #2: As of Thursday, 10/28, the website now confirms that the event will be held this Sunday. "The Sunday November 1st show will be held as usual. For information call (510) 740-0220 x104." I did call the number and the outgoing message states that the show is on! (Thanks, Sean!)

Comments

According to the site today (10/29) the show this weekend is back on!

I'm glad the flea market is still on. My mom and I go pretty much every month and it's something we look forward to so much!

From what I hear now it will be on this month (I talked to a dealer) but there is question about the future of the show. Interesting info...
