Wine Harvest Weekend

Yesterday marked the annual wine harvest for our community vineyard. The weather was beautiful, which may have contributed to the impressive volunteer turnout.

It was fun to get involved with the wine-making process, including clipping the bunches of grapes off of the vines and then removing the individual grapes from the stems.

After all of the grapes were sorted, they were crushed in a machine. The seeds and skin are included because the vineyard only produces red wine. Eventually, it will be stored in oak barrels and make its way to our home in bottles.
