West Elm Parsons Desk
I am revisiting the desk in the guest bedroom. I'm just not sure I'm loving the CB2 Peekaboo console in there, so I've been scouring the Internet for other options. One design that I keep coming back to is the Parsons from West Elm. It's definitely the right size (the mini version is just 30" wide) and price ($250).
I love the way interior designer Martha Angus incorporated the Parsons desk in two showcase spaces last year:

Did you buy the WE Parsons yet? The black shiny version and the kelly green version were marked $119 during the in-store Dash for Design Sale!
I have it in white and it was a great purchase. It's so versatile and it goes with any look/style/mix.I don't think I'll ever get sick of it, which is a miracle for me!

k8e - Hmmm. I wonder if the store/floor models don't look so great because they get a little beat up from customers. I have an old WE side table that I love, and it's held up OK -- except for a small chip when it was moved to this house. (If it's in the guest bedroom, the desk wouldn't endure too much wear/tear.)
Becky - I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your desk!
I haven't purchased yet. I love that kelly green color ... but it wouldn't work with the color scheme in the guest bedroom. It'll probably take me 6 months to decide what to buy! (It took me a long time to pull the trigger on the CB2 console purchase.)

I have been fairly happy with anything from West Elm (not that I've bought a lot of furniture) but you acan't go wrong with the look and style of those pieces! You may also check on seeing what having one made custom might cost.

If you really decide to ditch the console, I've been thinking about buying it. So...let me know.
